Let the travel blog begin!

Several years ago, I read a paper called “Why We Blog,” by Professor Nardi of the University of California, Irvine. In it, she claims that “bloggers are driven to document their lives, provide commentary and opinions, express deeply felt emotions, articulate ideas through writing, and form and maintain community forums.” In the case of this blog, I aim to do a little bit of everything above. Not only will this blog supplement my book, but will also provide the latest updates on my own travels, as well as provide a forum for other travelers to share their thoughts and experiences.
In my opinion, one of the best things to do while traveling is to keep a travel journal. This is a place to jot down random thoughts, deep insights, and factual information about your travels. Not only does it help to organize your thoughts in the present, but years later, you can relive your trip through your written words. It’s surprising how quickly we forget the details of everyday travel, but how quickly they come to life on paper years, or even decades, later. And using today’s technology, it’s easier than ever to put thoughts on “electronic paper” and attach pictures, videos and sounds to your memories. So in a way, this blog is also serving as my travel journal to the world.
